In addition to the guidelines provided here, MOTO (mail order/telephone order) businesses and any others that primarily key in transactions can take additional steps to prevent chargebacks.
- Use a manual imprinter (not just a pencil or crayon) to imprint an image of the front of the credit card on the transaction receipt
- If you do not have a manual imprinter, you can validate the CVV2 code
- Change, correct, or "touch-up" the imprint after the transaction is complete
- Record the imprint on the back of the receipt or on a separate piece of paper
