How do I add a tip to an EMV transaction?

In some cases, tipping with an EMV card is actually easier and more streamlined than with a swiped card. Some terminals can be configured to prompt the customer to enter a tip amount before the transaction is sent off to the card issuer for authorization, meaning the tip and sale are authorized in a single transaction. This means no more adjusting transactions after the fact, simplifying the process for both you and your customer.

Not all terminals support this feature. In these cases, tips are added just like any other transaction. Customers can print a tip amount of their choosing on the receipt.
