If you see the error "Card reader not detected" on your SwipeSimple app, follow the steps below. If the problem persists, please call us at 408-295-8360.
1. Make sure the card reader is plugged in all the way.
2. Make sure that your SwipeSimple app is up to date
- Open up the Play Store on Android or the App Store on iOS devices. If any updates are available, install them.
- For iOS devices, you must be running iOS v6 or higher.
3. Clean the headphone jack to remove dust and lint as this can affect the connection.
4. Uninstall and reinstall the SwipeSimple app (be aware that this may toggle your microphone to OFF - see step 5)
5. Verify that your phone's audio settings are configured properly. Here's how:
- FOR iOS DEVICES
- Go to Settings, then tap the SwipeSimple app
- Tap Privacy
- Turn microphone to On
- Turn your device's volume up as high as it will go
- Open the SwipeSimple app again
- FOR ANDROID DEVICES
- Go to Settings, then select Accessibility
- Under Hearing, ensure that "turn off all sounds" is not selected
- Turn your device's volume up as high as it will go
- Open the SwipeSimple app again
